Pokémon Go Fest Dortmund

Together with the German tech corporation Riedel we created a vast WiFi network that covered just under 50 acres of the Westfalenpark in Dortmund.

Pokémon Go Fest attracted around 50 000 gamers from around the world whom during the three-day event had the opportunity to collect especially desirable Pokémon as well as take part in a great number of different activities.

Pokémon Go is a game with high demands on data capacity and our challenge was essentially to get the WiFi to work as good as possible together with the local mobile carriers 3G and 4G networks. In order to create the prerequisites for this event we had five people on site during two weeks.
